A place to land
This is by no means a good blog, nor is it one that people will read. This is simply to serve as a digital record of what is going on in my life, and perhaps a check-in for those I call friends.
So for now,
It is march.
Today is daylight savings, how strange. The jumping back and forth an hour has always confused me, though I know it served a purpose in history. I simply draw on the scene from National Treasure and the Liberty Bell. What a strange movie, and one I saw so frequently on ski trips.
I wish I could ski now. The snow and rain come sporadically, in classic Utah fashion. People complain of unpredictable weather, yet I find it the only predictable thing here.
With winter almost over I feel that I may not have made the most of it. Not enough cozy nights in, I don't think I drank any hot chocolate (a lingering fear from the eating disorder), I did sled though, and get thrown into the snow. No ice skating, but some wonderful Christmas celebrations. Its a good thing winter comes again and again. Comfort in there always being next year.
Now I look forward, in 2 months and 10 days I will be headed to England.... I feel wildly unprepared. 'But foxy, you have so much time to get ready!' You would think that, but you would be wrong.
Time moves achingly slow until it is already past.
My volunteer shift will come to an end soon, so this is where I will leave off. Much love, until next time,
Foxy
I'm not a Utah native, so I don't understand quite yet the unpredictability of the seasons. But I love precipitation (excluding hail). I'm trying to be better about welcoming change into my life, not as a HOA representative, whose only purpose in life is to find my faults, but as a whirling dervish sort of visitor, bringing cheese and books and tears from places I've never heard of.
ReplyDeleteKeep writing Foxy, it only gets better from here.
